Match #1: H Hood vs Alexander Grey
H Hood kicked off the night with a promo, explaining the power of his briefcase and his strategic plan to cash it in at the perfect moment. However, “The Ace” Alexander Grey wasn’t interested in listening. Before Grey could even speak, Hood blindsided him with the briefcase, setting a brutal tone for the match. Despite Hood’s initial advantage (fuelled by what we can only assume was some serious mother-related trash talk) Alexander Grey pulled off a surprising victory, nailing a thunderous spear to silence the briefcase-wielding schemer.
Match #2: “Headshot” Alex Campbell vs Heath
The battle between Alex Campbell and Heath was a masterclass in ruthless dominance. Heath expertly shut down Campbell’s offense at every turn, showcasing his veteran cunning. However, the resilient Campbell refused to stay down, eventually finding an opening and connecting with his devastating ‘Headshot’ kick to secure the hard-fought win.
Match #3: Max Jaggard vs “Mullet Madness” Devon Fulton
This match was personal, and it showed. Jaggard and Fulton battered each other in a back-and-forth war where neither man could maintain a clear advantage. The ending, however, was anything but clean. Heath emerged, introducing Devon Fulton’s head to his trusty steel chain, gifting Jaggard a tainted victory.
The post-match beatdown saw Heath and Jaggard threatening to cut the source of Devon’s power – his prized mullet, prompting a furious Alex Campbell to return to the ring, yeeting his suitcase over the top rope at Heath and Jaggard, to make the save and challenge the villainous duo to a tag team match at the next show.
The Blockbusters vs Meatwagon
For the JCP / NWA Tag Team Titles
The anticipation for this clash of titans was palpable, with over 1000lbs of manly men colliding in the ring. The Blockbusters initially used their speed and teamwork to isolate Troy Ryan, cutting him off from the explosive Anderson Daniels. Just when Meatwagon looked poised for a tag, The Blockbusters’ interference kept Daniels at bay. Lana Rae, managing The Blockbusters, made her presence felt with a well-placed slap when the battle went to the outside, further frustrating the Meatwagon.
Eventually, Daniels got the momentum shifting tag and unleashed a flurry of offense, throwing The Blockbusters around the ring like they were tiny little children. However, The true power behind The Blockbusters, Lana Rae, once again played a pivotal role, spraying a mystery substance into the eyes of Meatwagon, allowing The Blockbusters to steal the victory and retain their titles.
Match #5: Omega Luke vs DBJ
In a match that many in the sold-out crowd felt was too difficult to watch, former friends Omega Luke and DBJ tore into each other with a brutal intensity. Gone were the tag team maneuvers, this was a personal war. The fight spilled into the crowd, where Omega Luke even enlisted the help of fellow YouTuber Aaron Hunt for some stinging ‘Kobashi-style’ chops. DBJ took Luke into the corner of the ring and returned the favour with a chop that was heard throughout the arena! He then ruthlessly targeted Omega Luke’s knee with a top rope senton, chop block, and flying kick, further demonstrating the broken bond of The VC.
After the referee was accidentally taken out, DBJ retrieved a chair from outside the ring but hesitated to use it, even with the referee down and Omega Luke begging him to do it. However, the momentary moral struggle was short-lived. DBJ capitalized on the confusion, by kicking the chair into Omega Luke’s knee and following up with a punishing single leg Boston crab for a hard-fought but morally questionable submission victory.
The post-match saw Omega Luke’s night go from bad to worse, as H Hood hit the ring, and everyone’s favourite psychopath attacked the injured Luke until the referee intervened, revealing Omega Luke to be on H Hood’s hit list.
Match #6:RomCom vs Hot Jock
To determine the #1 contender to the TCW Tag Team Championships
This match can only be described as chaotic brilliance (look out for the YouTube video coming soon)…
Hot Jock dominated Tony Wright for the majority of this match, apart from that time where RomCom and referee Matt rode “The Sexy Cowboy” Karl Parker around the ring like a Buckaroo. It was a masterclass in tag team wrestling from Hot Jock as they cut off the ring for RomCom, leading to Luca Romeo getting more and more frustrated on the ring apron. Eventually, Luca Romeo got the big tag and brought his signature high-energy offense, dominating Karl Parker and Joey Seven to eventually emerge victorious. General Manager Ethan then declared RomCom the winners and the new #1 contenders for the TCW Tag Team Championships, currently held by GL2.
Main Event: Lucky vs Country Big
For the TCW World Championship
The main event was a full-circle moment, as Lucky, who faced Country Big in the very first TCW match, now challenged him for his first shot at the World Championship in the main event of our anniversary show (whilst both men were in the midst of a winning streak). Despite being dominated by the long-reigning champion for much of the match, Lucky showed incredible resilience, finding moments to rally and even gain the upper hand over Country Big in a way that so many others before him simply couldn’t do.
The match spilled to the outside where Lucky suffered with a suplex onto the ™Hardest Part of the Ring – thanks to Country Big. Despite this Lucky started to build momentum and hit the champ with a Trouble in Paradise which Country Big managed to kick out at the last moment. In a shocking and unexpected finish, with Country Big seemingly in control, Lucky snatched victory from the jaws of defeat, rolling up the champion for the 1-2-3!
The sold-out crowd erupted as Lucky celebrated his monumental victory, joined in the ring by almost the entire TCW locker room in a show of respect and camaraderie.
